Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli Engage in Twitter Dialogue Over the Impact of Negative Rap Lyrics in the Community

Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli Engage in Twitter Dialogue Over the Impact of Negative Rap Lyrics in the CommunityWe have this conversation at Freedom Hall pretty often, it sucks that such conversations even have to be had. The problem is they are both right, we can’t shun an artist for creative expression but at the same time when the expression is hurting our communities what else is there that we can do? I agree with both of them, Kweli is right when he said “the answer isnt censoring gangsta or violent rap, but creating better homes, thats where it starts.” But when there aren’t any homes, as a result of programs like COINTELPROthe only thing young people have to be influenced by is Music! Artist have to be held accountable, especially in Hip Hop… in my opinion, Peace!

You could certainly see your enthusiasm within the work you write.

The world hopes for even more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe.
At all times follow your heart.
